Roof-Mounted Solar Module Structures

Roof mounting structures are selected individually based on the roof type, roofing material, structural design, and solar module layout. There is no universal solution—even the same number of modules can be arranged differently. Therefore, each mounting system is configured according to the specific project layout and can be adapted to more complex installation requirements.

Flat Roof Solar Mounting Systems

For flat roofs, mounting structures are selected according to the orientation and tilt angle of the solar modules. Modules are typically installed in a horizontal position, while the system configuration depends on the module dimensions and the proposed layout.

South-Facing Mounting Systems

PT solar mounting systems are designed for installing solar modules on flat roofs facing south. Although all PT systems follow the same structural concept, they are selected according to the required tilt angle.

Each system includes:

– Aluminium support brackets with a protective technical felt layer to protect the roof membrane
– Hot-dip galvanized steel wind deflectors
– Aluminium photovoltaic module clamps with stainless steel fastening components

  • PT5

The low tilt angle and highly aerodynamic design allow modules to be installed closer together, maximizing the number of panels on the available roof area. Due to the low structural height, no wind deflector is required, resulting in reduced ballast requirements.

  • PT10

A 10° tilt angle provides excellent annual energy production while making optimal use of the available roof space. The system offers balanced wind load performance and sufficient self-cleaning capability.

  • PT15

The most popular south-facing mounting system, providing the optimal balance between aerodynamics and energy production. It delivers high efficiency for every module while maximizing the return on investment of the solar power system.

  • PT20

A high-tilt mounting system designed to maximize electricity generation by achieving the highest possible energy output from each solar module.

PT15L is a standalone solution where the mounting rows are not interconnected. It features an extended support structure with ballast placed beneath the modules, making it suitable for complex or project-specific applications. One of its main advantages is the minimal number of structural components, allowing for quick and efficient installation.

East-West Mounting Systems

RV solar mounting systems are designed for east-west module orientation, enabling more efficient use of roof space while providing a more balanced electricity generation profile throughout the day.

RV10 is a 10° east-west mounting system offering excellent aerodynamic performance while occupying minimal roof space. It maximizes electricity production during morning and evening hours, when electricity prices are often higher.

Each system includes:

– Aluminium support brackets with a protective technical felt layer
– Aluminium photovoltaic module clamps with stainless steel fastening components

RV10Z is an independent system where mounting rows are not interconnected. It uses an extended support structure with ballast positioned beneath the modules. The system offers excellent aerodynamic performance, occupies very little roof space, and maximizes morning and evening energy production. Thanks to its small number of components, installation is fast and straightforward.

Available installation methods:

The installer should select the most suitable mounting method according to the roof covering while ensuring complete roof waterproofing.
  • Ballasted mounting
  • Mounting to the roof structure using a welded support plate
  • Mounting to sheet metal roofs using structural roof connections
  • Installation on sheet metal roofing, attached to the roof structure.

Solar Mounting Systems for Pitched Roofs

Mounting systems for pitched roofs are selected according to the roof covering and structural design to ensure watertightness, secure fastening, and long-term durability. Fixing methods are tailored to each roofing material and module layout.

Mounting Solutions by Roof Type

Mounting solutions are selected according to the roof covering and structural design to ensure maximum weather resistance, safe load transfer, and long service life.

  • Fibre Cement Roofing

Special fixing components designed for corrugated fibre cement roofing provide secure installation while minimizing damage to the roof covering.

  • Standing Seam Metal Roofing

Modules are mounted directly onto the standing seams without drilling, preserving the roof’s waterproof integrity.

  • Tile Roofing

Mounting brackets are secured directly to the roof rafters, ensuring stable installation while maintaining roof watertightness.

  • Bitumen Shingle Roofing

Fixings pass through the roofing material using specialized sealing solutions that prevent moisture penetration.

  • Trapezoidal / Corrugated Metal Roofing

The system is fixed directly to the roof profile using sealing elements, providing a simple and cost-effective installation solution.

Structural Adaptability

Pitched roof mounting systems are configured individually for each project and module layout.

  • Suitable for various roofing materials and roof structures
  • Optimized fastening components for each application
  • Reliable structural stability and weatherproof sealing
  • Tailor-made solutions for individual projects
